‘The Blue House’ is a retrospective on childhood, family and separation. Through the colorful, collaged Risograph works, the walls of the house are deconstructed into new imagined possibilities for family and finding home.

Junior Practicum Final

Divine Creation is a body of 4 brightly-colored digital collages displayed in lightboxes. The work draws on the use of pre-existing images to create pieces void of the touch of the hand. This idea of the non-tactile, synthesized nature of digital art is the root of this piece, expressing my frustrations surrounding digital art and the influence of AI in our current moment.This work exists to satirize perceptions of digital art I have strong issues with: the screen is the digital’s impenetrable holding cell; digital art is plastic, artificial, never as impactful as the physical; and finally, the digital is too easy, requiring no skill to create, just a mashup of tools hand-fed to the artist. With this work, I hope that I am able to spark conversation and change perceptions of what digital art means to the viewers.
